Duties
- Provide instruction to high school and adult students preparing for careers in Collision Repair.
- Implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEP's) to meet students' needs.
- Oversee all activities that provide high school students with a hands-on, practical experience in Collision Repair.
- Implement curriculum according to New York State secondary school standards and practical applications.
- Attend faculty and professional development meetings.
- Arrange for speakers, field trips, community service and shadowing experiences for students.
- Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
- Communicates with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.
- Associates Degree in Automotive Maintenance and Repair and a minimum of 2 years of paid industry experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
- High School diploma, plus 4 years of paid industry experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
- Willingness to pursue Career and Technical Teaching Certification for Vehicle Body Repair and Painting, grades 7-12.
- Willing to work collaboratively with team members to effectively support the needs of all students.
- Commitment to supporting students' social emotional and academic development.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
