JOB SUMMARY:
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of large format digital printing equipment in the Large Format sub-department. Equipment includes the HP 10000, Durst, Esko/Zünd, Clear Coater, Guillotine, and Futoba. This role ensures print jobs are completed according to specifications, schedules are met, and quality standards are maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Set up and operate large format digital printing equipment
· Review printed output for ink density, registration, and print quality
· Make real-time adjustments to maintain quality throughout production
· Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including PPE and chemical handling
· Interpret production paperwork, specifications, and drawings
· Manage materials and supplies to meet production requirements
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
· Support preventive maintenance procedures
· Collaborate with other departments as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Experience operating digital presses and understanding their functions
· Proficiency with troubleshooting, quality control, and color calibration
· Familiarity with color monitoring systems and plastic substrates
· Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
· Ability to read and follow written work instructions
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Willingness to work shifts and overtime
· Must pass Ishihara Color Blind Test
