A leading importer and distributor of international food products is hiring a Regulatory Compliance Specialistto manage and support labeling compliance across a large and growing product portfolio.
This role plays a key part in ensuring all products meet federal, state, and international food labeling standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of product labels with FDA, USDA, and applicable state laws
- Review ingredient lists, allergen statements, and labeling disclosures for accuracy
- Lead label update initiatives tied to regulatory or product changes
- Manage large-scale label review workflows and backlog reduction efforts
- Coordinate with global suppliers to obtain accurate labeling documentation
- Partner with internal teams (QA, Marketing, Procurement) to execute label changes
- Evaluate regulatory risks and ensure timely resolution of compliance issues
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and internal compliance standards
- Review marketing claims and ensure regulatory alignment
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related discipline
- 3 years of experience in food labeling compliance or regulatory affairs
- Strong understanding of FDA food labeling regulations (21 CFR)
- Detail-oriented with strong project coordination skills
- Experience working with global/imported food products
- Knowledge of regulatory certifications (Organic, Non-GMO, Halal, Kosher)
- Experience with compliance systems/tools
- HACCP, PCQI, or FSVP certifications
- Monday–Friday (Day shift)
