Job Title: Prep Cook

Position Summary:
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and ensuring all food items are ready for service according to Moderna’s recipes and standards. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining kitchen organization, cleanliness, and efficiency to support a smooth and successful shift.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all food items according to Moderna recipes, portion standards, and prep lists.
- Wash, peel, cut, and measure ingredients for daily menu items.
- Properly label, date, and store all prepared ingredients to ensure freshness and food safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, storage rooms, and refrigeration units.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
- Report any product shortages, quality issues, or equipment malfunctions to the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed.
- Support line cooks during service periods as requested.
- Ensure proper rotation (FIFO) of all inventory and minimize waste.
Qualifications:
- Previous prep or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of kitchen tools, equipment, and knife safety.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must have valid food handlers certification.

- Must arrive on time, in full uniform, and ready to work.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Practice respect and teamwork with all staff members.
- No cell phone use during work hours except on breaks or emergencies.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent Moderna’s standards of professionalism and hospitality.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (8 hours).
- Lift, carry, and transport up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, and noisy kitchen environment.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions safely.
