Modern Staffing is hiring a Project Engineer for a manufacturing company located in New Braunfels, TX:
JOB SUMMARY
This position provides design solutions from receipt of the customer’s purchase order through production, installation and final commissioning; both in new product design and existing product redesign.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design Expansion Joints in compliance with 1. customer PO, drawings and specifications, 2. ASME code and/or EJMA Standards (Expansion Joint Manufacturer’s Association) and 3. SFP quote, estimate and standards.
- Propose changes in equipment, processes or use of materials and services which would result in cost reduction or improvement in expansion joint performance or operations.
- Provide technical services to customers regarding use, operation and maintenance of Expansion Joints.
- Contact customer and customer representatives to resolve, discuss and explain requested changes and design features.
- Perform field inspections of expansion joints to evaluate condition and recommend repairs or replacement if needed.
- Support initiatives and audits as required, including support and communication of all corporate goals.
- Understand and practice current ISO9000 and ISO14001 standards.
- May be required to travel globally.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Two (2) years related experience in piping design, refining or petrochemical industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Capable of modeling and drafting in Solidworks or similar 3d modeling software.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, customers and vendors.
- Willing to learn and think outside the box for design solutions.
Beneficial Skills & Experience:
- FEA software (Ansys, Solidworks Simulation or similar).
- Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Section III, B31.1, and/or B31.3
- Knowledge of CAESAR II pipe stress analysis software
- Current TWIC card or willing to obtain one within three months of hire.
- EIT certification or ability to obtain.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
