We are seeking an experienced Controller for our client who will partner closely with senior finance leadership and oversee accounting and financial reporting operations across the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial results, strengthening internal controls, and supporting growth initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.
The ideal candidate brings a strong technical accounting foundation, proven leadership experience, and the ability to operate as a strategic business partner in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team responsible for timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory, and related functions
- Ensure the integrity of financial data through strong internal controls, audit disciplines, and standardized processes
- Manage consolidated financial reporting and performance metrics to support business decision-making
- Support M&A activity, including technical accounting research, transaction documentation, and post-acquisition integration
- Assist with the integration of acquired entities into existing financial reporting, close cycles, and accounting policies
- Coordinate and support year-end audits and ongoing interactions with external auditors
- Serve as a key point of contact for third-party partners including creditors and financial agents
- Lead and support special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- 4 years of public accounting and/or manager-level technical accounting experience
- 2 years of people management and team-building experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
- Active CPA required; Big 4 background strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including research and practical application
- Strong ERP experience and advanced technical accounting knowledge
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and solve problems collaboratively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines
- Hands-on experience with acquisition integration and technical accounting for M&A
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization
- Highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
