Seasonal Usher –Job Description
Job Title: Usher Team Member Department: Stadium
Reports to: Hannah Shafer Effective Date: June to September
Job Summary:
Ushers are the welcoming committee to the seating bowl. This individual understands that they have the ability to impact the guest experience including support to other team members with enforcement of park rules and regulations, maintaining order, and ensuring safety to all park guests. You will support all operations for events and baseball games at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field. You are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and hospitality to all guests throughout the park.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Welcome and warmly greet our guests and assist them with finding their seat. Checking their tickets when needed.
- Be able to answer any guest’s question or need they may have during their visit, and if not, being able to point them towards someone who would know the answer.
- Responsible for monitoring crowd behavior and taking steps to ensure that each guest may enjoy the event without disruption from others.
- Be the first responder to all issues in the seating area, summoning for assistance when necessary.
- Keep seating area safe and organized ensuring all guests are in the proper seat and area is free from messes and hazards.
- Engage guests at every opportunity, taking the time to recognize regulars by name when appropriate.
- Be available to work all ticketed events.
- Learning the seating, layout, and policies and procedures of each of our venues.
- Be able to critically think and problem solve.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and working on POS.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Frequent visual/auditory attention.
