What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHILD CARE PROVIDER position at MISSISSIPPI ACTION FOR PROGRESS INC?
- To promote family wellness and parent involvement programs and to support the implementation of the family partnership process. Operate as a liaison between classroom and home settings in the area of education, child development and mental health. Verify age and income of families according to MAP’s Procedures and guidelines.
- Replace vacancies according to procedures to ensure that center maintain full enrollment.
- Assist with the preparation and mailing parent survey.
- Assist with preparation and distribution of recruitment materials.
- Track attendance of children in assigned caseload in accordance with attendance policies and procedures; record in computerized system
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and or psychology preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in family social services setting preferred, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services.
- The skill and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.
- Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
- Knowledge of early childhood education and intervention preferred.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with various applications such as word processing, e-mail and internet.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours.
Salary : $23,011 - $29,455
