What are the responsibilities and job description for the FAMILY COMMUNITY WORKER position at MISSISSIPPI ACTION FOR PROGRESS INC?
- Record all family information to include ‘family contacts’ into manual and computerized records within two work days of visit.
- Establish at the onset of each school year a comprehensive record for each assigned child/family and expectant mother.
- Document and track follow-up needs, Family Partnership Goals, health, dental, nutrition, hearing and vision concerns.
- Input enrollment date/drop date of assigned caseload within one (1) working day of child’s/EHS expectant mother enrollment/drop from the program.
- Document all significant parent contacts and home visits in ChildPlus.
- Submit all records and invoices for services delivery to Center Administrator or as required per operational procedures.
- Notify Center Administrator immediately of attendance concerns and/or issues affecting service delivery.
- Report, document, and monitor child abuse and neglect.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and or psychology preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in family social services setting preferred, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services.
- The skill and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner.
- Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
- Knowledge of early childhood education and intervention preferred.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with various applications such as word processing, e-mail and internet.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours.
Salary : $31,374 - $48,973
