Position Summary: Associate – Specialty Finance (Asset-Based Credit Group)
Location: New York, NY (in-person)
Group Focus:
- Invests across the capital structure in the specialty finance sector
- Focus areas include consumer finance, commercial finance, and other contractual cash-flowing receivables
- Strategies include lending against and acquiring assets
- Emphasizes deep industry research, data analysis, and bespoke deal structuring
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain asset-based financial models and databases
- Conduct asset valuation, pricing analysis, and comparative performance reviews
- Perform client and asset due diligence
- Prepare internal investment committee memos
- Review and support transaction legal documentation
- Support portfolio monitoring, risk assessment, and ongoing asset management
- Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience in finance, with direct exposure to asset-based transactions
- Background in investment banking, securitization, asset-based lending, or structured credit
- Strong Excel modeling and analytical skills; database or programming skills are a plus
- Familiarity with securitization structures and specialty finance companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Salary : $125,000 - $160,000
