The MNIT MDH team provides services for over 250 applications and delivers the information technology to drive one of the leading public health systems in the nation. You will support an agency that works to protect, maintain, and improve the health of all Minnesotans.
Job Summary
As a .NET and Java Developer, with Amazon Web Services (AWS), at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), you will support the agency’s custom-developed web-based applications effort. You will be responsible for designing and implementing small to moderate computer systems, supporting existing web-based computer programs, and participating in the technical design of larger systems, business practices, and process automation. You may also be required to provide lead work to other IT professionals in development efforts.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 625 Robert Street N, St. Paul MN at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.
Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in developing complete object-oriented Java web and .NET applications including analysis, design, implementation, build scripting, and unit testing.
Experience must include:
- Java and .NET web application development frameworks, web application security integration, database integration, and performance analysis.
- Java build script development.
- Relational data modeling and SQL development.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
- Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.
Minnesota IT Services does not participate in E-Verify. Minnesota IT Services will not sponsor applicant for work visas, including F-1 STEM OPT extensions.
