SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and monitors work flow. Appraises job results through coaching, counseling and discipline. Enforces and adheres to systems, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Trains and evaluates associate progress to standards
- Studies production schedules and estimates number of workers and worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets specifications, instruction sheets, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Organizes associates daily assignments
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Gathers basic process cycle time data.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Implements and maintains 5S principal.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
- Maintains standards of housekeeping (5S) and safety per established policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the supervising of hourly production associates.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate general PC fundamentals and working knowledge of MS Office software.
