SUMMARY: Interprets, organizes, executes and audits progress of broad and complex projects and problems. Defines root cause and effect and uses advanced techniques and theories in field of expertise. Develops solutions, analyze projects with the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Designs and recommends methods for maintaining or increasing production efficiency and to improve quality, and safety.
- Troubleshoots process problems and identifies solutions to reduce downtime to improve efficiency, improve quality and unsafe conditions.
- Monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those problems.
- Assist in new product model plant trials to determine equipment capabilities.
- Develop, update and assist process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable.
- Assist in development of test methods, procedures and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.
- Works with maintenance in laying air piping and electrical hookup for new installation or relocation of production equipment.
- Proactively supports internal operations through interaction with new model, production, and maintenance groups
- Assists in determining criteria and methods for process controls needed to minimize risk of non-conforming material outflow to customer locations.
- Creatively applies process improvement tools to reduce scrap cost.
- Utilizes PFMEA’s, product specifications, QMS requirements, etc…. to develop and deploy operational standards, and other line documents.
- Provide technical training to associates as required.
- Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
- Interfaces with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong problem-solving skills, enjoys using a hands-on approach.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate general PC fundamentals and working knowledge of MS Office software.
