Overview
A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to support mechanical layout and design for complex electronic systems and industrial enclosures. This role involves creating, updating, and releasing a variety of engineering drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related software tools. The ideal candidate has strong drafting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop mechanical design layouts for parts and assemblies using engineering specifications, component data sheets, schematics, and bills of materials (BOM).
Update and revise drawings and BOMs through the internal change management process.
Apply sound mechanical design practices including dimensioning/tolerancing, material selection, and manufacturability considerations.
· Produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.
· Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and suppliers to ensure successful product design execution.
· Support and mentor junior drafters as needed.
· Provide technical support to production personnel to resolve manufacturing-related issues.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting.
Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards; familiarity with industry and military standards is a plus.
Proficiency in SolidWorks; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe software.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to climb stairs, sit for extended periods, use a keyboard, and communicate clearly in English.
Education
· Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
