What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Mechatronics Engineer position at Miller Resource Group?
Senior Mechatronics Engineer | Client Opportunity in Robotics & Automation
Our client, an emerging technology company in the automation space, is seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced robotic systems used in industrial and logistics environments. This role blends hands-on engineering with system-level design, working across hardware, controls, and integration.
Role Overview
This position focuses on building and integrating complex electromechanical systems that power automated solutions in real-world settings. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with software, controls, and operations teams to bring new robotic concepts from prototype through deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and validate robotic and automated systems for industrial applications
- Develop system-level designs incorporating controls hardware, sensors, and mechanical components
- Create detailed electrical and pneumatic schematics and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to build and deploy integrated systems
- Evaluate new concepts through technical feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of electromechanical systems
- Contribute to system specifications, integration planning, and performance validation
- Assist with in-house builds, demos, and early-stage development efforts
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in mechatronics, machine design, or related engineering fields
- Strong experience designing electrical and pneumatic systems
- Background in hardware system integration, including controls components and sensors
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and complex assembly design
- Familiarity with fabrication methods (CNC, sheet metal, 3D printing, etc.)
- Working knowledge of motion control components such as motors, actuators, and encoders
- Basic programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
Nice to Have
- Experience with industrial control systems and PLCs
- Exposure to robotic programming or simulation tools
- Background in vision systems or sensor integration
- Experience designing end-of-arm tooling or custom mechanisms
Ideal Profile
Our client is looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building and testing real systems—not just designing them on paper. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across disciplines, collaborating with diverse teams, and adapting quickly in a fast-moving environment.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge automation systems and see your designs move from concept to real-world deployment. It’s a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges and contributing to next-generation industrial technology.
