Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and audit the end-to-end payroll function to ensure 100% compliance with FLSA, state, and local regulations—all while keeping the process chill and easy for the team.
- Maintain and monitor tip pooling policies to ensure equitable and legally compliant disbursement among eligible staff.
- Completely manage payroll HRIS software (Paycor) by making sure all team members are up to date with basic information and no outstanding system alerts are active
- Collaborate with HR leadership to interpret payroll data and provide strategic recommendations, while also maintaining up-to-date employee records, managing time-off requests, and handling payroll adjustments as needed.
- Generate payroll reports and analyze data to provide insights that support our staffing and financial goals.
- Serve as the friendly point of contact for payroll-related questions from staff, making sure everyone feels heard and valued.
- Evaluate and implement best practices for payroll software and HR systems to improve operational efficiency and data security.
- Keep an eye on the latest trends in payroll software and HR practices to keep our restaurant ahead of the curve.
- Actively participate in team meetings, bringing a positive attitude and creative solutions to enhance the employee experience.
- Coordinate and administer the team member benefits program. Act as a centralized resource for employees with benefit questions, researching and resolving concerns to ensure everyone is happy with their coverage.
- Maintaining the Employee Handbook.
- Conduct new employee orientations to explain benefit programs and other payroll/HR-related matters so new hires feel welcome from day one
- Administer medical, dental, prescription drug, and flexible spending programs. This includes overseeing reimbursement benefits.
- Take the lead on ACA management by monitoring measurement periods to track employee eligibility and handling all yearly ACA reporting requirements.
- Lead the charge on essential compliance reporting, including EEOC reporting and the annual EEO-1 Component 1 Report. Ensure that we fulfill all requirements of relevant government rules, including ERISA.
- Coordinate and administer team member benefits program and report usage and cost on a monthly basis for HR budgeting
- Oversee the full lifecycle of employee records, including onboarding and offboarding in accordance with proper record-keeping protocols (I-9, tax forms, etc.).
- Coordinate and execute BWC (Workers' Comp), unemployment claims, and other employment-related regulatory filings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in payroll management, preferably in a fast-paced or hospitality environment.
- Proficiency with payroll software (experience with Toast and Paycor is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to payroll, including FLSA standards for tipped and non-exempt employees.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills—accuracy is key!
- Experience managing tip pooling policies and disbursement
- Friendly, approachable demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
