Payroll Specialist / HR Generalist

📍 Lancaster, OH

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist / HR Generalist to join our team in Lancaster, Ohio. This role is primarily responsible for payroll processing, with additional responsibilities supporting HR functions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll (Primary Focus):

  • Process and manage weekly/biweekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records, including wages, deductions, and taxes
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries
  • Coordinate with finance on payroll reporting and audits

HR Generalist Duties

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS systems
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee communications
  • Support employee relations and respond to HR-related inquiries
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws

Qualifications

  • 2 years of payroll experience (multi-state preferred)
  • Experience with HR processes and generalist responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS/payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar)
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field
