The individual will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand integration points, execute test plans, and help troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To succeed in this role, the individual must meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Assist in developing and executing test plans and test cases for integrated systems.
- Perform manual testing and contribute to the creation or maintenance of basic automated tests.
- Help identify integration points, dependencies, and data flow across systems.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and support testing strategies.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure integration updates do not impact existing functionality.
- Document issues found during testing and collaborate with developers to support resolution.
- Observe and monitor integration processes to identify potential areas for improvement.
- Learn and stay informed about tools and best practices related to integration testing.
- Participate in discussions related to design and quality to gain understanding of system behavior.
- Communicate clearly with team members, providing updates and reporting issues as needed.
- Basic understanding of software integration concepts and testing principles.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate testing and defect reporting.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and testing methods.
- Associate degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Software testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
- Up to 1 year of experience in software testing or relevant coursework/internship experience.
- Exposure to test automation tools such as Cypress, Pytest, or Jest is helpful.
- Basic familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to messaging or queueing systems such as Kafka, AWS SQS, or ActiveMQ.
- Basic understanding of RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD concepts, or agile methodologies is a plus.
- Exposure to performance testing tools like JMeter or BlazeMeter is helpful.
