What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent Full-time/Part-time position at Microtel Inn & Suites?
Affordable Comfort in Onalaska near historic downtown and the University of Wisconsin La Crosse is what our guests will receive when they book a great room for a great rate at our Microtel Inn by Wyndham Onalaska/La Crosse Hotel. Our Hotel is within easy driving distance of great shopping, restaurants, entertainment, and the historic downtown area. Our clean and accommodating guest rooms were designed with their comfort in mind, featuring thoughtful amenities to brighten their stay.
But all this is nothing without excellent Hotel staff! Join us in providing a great guest services experience to travelers from around the world. We are looking for someone for our Front desk. Our schedule is flexible but set and does not change much (occasionally covering another person's shift for time off requests may be required). Prefer Weekend Day or Evening shifts, walk-in interviews welcome, Immediate hire for good candidate possible.
Responsibilities:
- Provide warm and friendly customer service when checking in and out hotel guests.
- Check-in guests, answer phones, and take reservations.
- Respond to guest complaints, requests, and emergencies.
- Maintains the shift-to-shift log accurately to ensure proper communication between shifts is maintained.
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the hotel lobby and front desk area.
- Manage online and phone reservations.
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data.
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay).
- Provide information about our Hotel, available rooms, and rates.
- Inform customers of all on-site amenities and any relevant information that is needed to use them.
- Explain local amenities and attractions to guests.
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished to accommodate guests' needs.
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests.
- Upsell additional facilities and services when appropriate.
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments.
- Washes, folds, and properly stores laundry (depending on business unit) as needed.
Requirements for Front Desk consist of:
- Communication skills and experience
- Computer skills and experience
- Customer Service skills are a must-have.
- A Front Desk Guest Services Agent should be efficient at multitasking, reliable and trustworthy with some accounting knowledge as a plus.
- 1 year experience in hospitality is a plus
- Must pass a background check and drug screening at hire
