Conduct research and lead research collaborations that yield new insights, theories, and analyses. Evaluate data, algorithms, and prototypes that advance state-of-the-art technology. Gain expertise in one or more sub-area of research and related methodologies. Conduct research into fundamental computer and information science as a theorist, designer, or inventor. Develop solutions to problems in the field of computer hardware, software, systems, or services. Contribute to the dissemination of content knowledge. Understand product or business group agendas and constraints. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: No work experience required.
Skills: Requires research experience involving the following skills: Causal inference using Machine Learning and Experimental Analysis; Analysis of Field Experiments; Domain Knowledge in Marketing and Advertising; Clickstream and Experimental Data Analysis; Statistical Programming and Data Tools including R, Stata and SQL; and Theoretical Modeling.

Pay Range and Benefits Information
The offered base pay range for this specific position ODP10025259313330, in insert Redmond, WA, is from $213,000.00 to $243,000.00 per year.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depend on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional reward, including merits increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employer’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others.
