Credit & Collections Specialist
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist to join a growing and well-established organization in a business-to-business environment. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, reviewing credit applications, and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring timely collections.
This position works closely with a collaborative team of four professionals within the accounting department. The role is being added due to company growth and anticipated retirements, creating strong long-term career opportunities within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts in a B2B collections environment
- Make collection calls and send follow-up emails regarding outstanding balances
- Review and evaluate customer credit applications
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account status
- Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and communications
- Work with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts accordingly
- Handle customer conversations professionally while maintaining strong relationships
- Assist in maintaining healthy accounts receivable balances
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of credit and collections experience, preferably in a B2B environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage challenging conversations professionally
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple accounts
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
