My client is a growing, US Manufacturer of high precision products. They are seeking a Senior Design Engineer who wants to play a pivot role in advancing their product portfolio!
Job Description
The Senior Design Engineer will:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies from concept through production, applying advanced CAD modeling, tolerance analysis, simulation, and prototyping to optimize performance, safety, and manufacturability.
- Own technical execution for new product development and existing product enhancements, including design validation, testing strategies, risk assessments, and engineering change management.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers, serving as a subject matter expert in materials, mechanical systems, tolerances, and manufacturing best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Product Management teams to ensure designs meet functional, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by researching and integrating new materials, processes, and technologies to enhance product reliability, ergonomics, and value.
- Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously, balancing technical requirements, timelines, and priorities; work closely with suppliers and partners to ensure components meet design intent.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, test plans, and production-ready deliverables; lead design reviews and support production ramp-up.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Design Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- 7 years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 4 years in product design and development within a manufacturing or precision-engineered environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor, with advanced knowledge of GD&T.
- Deep understanding of materials science, metallurgy, machining, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle from concept through production release.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment, collaborating closely with production teams and suppliers.
