Responsibilities

Job Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil sitework projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, demolition, and related scopes
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and site visits
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure accurate and competitive estimates
• Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction and bid review
• Identify risks, value‑engineering opportunities, and cost‑saving alternatives
• Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases
• Support bid submissions and assist with post‑bid clarifications or negotiations

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Civil Estimator Should Have

• Proven experience estimating civil sitework projects such as excavation, utilities, concrete, and grading
• Strong ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
• Solid understanding of civil construction means and methods, particularly in an urban market
• Comfortable working between the field and office, including site walks when needed
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Proficient in estimating software, takeoff tools, and Excel
• Able to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Communicates effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams
• Motivated, reliable, and interested in long‑term growth within a hands‑on construction environment
