Responsibilities
Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil sitework projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, demolition, and related scopes
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plans, specifications, and site visits
- Analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure accurate and competitive estimates
- Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction and bid review
- Identify risks, value‑engineering opportunities, and cost‑saving alternatives
- Track historical cost data and maintain estimating databases
- Support bid submissions and assist with post‑bid clarifications or negotiations

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Civil Estimator Should Have
- Proven experience estimating civil sitework projects such as excavation, utilities, concrete, and grading
- Strong ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications
- Solid understanding of civil construction means and methods, particularly in an urban market
- Comfortable working between the field and office, including site walks when needed
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proficient in estimating software, takeoff tools, and Excel
- Able to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Communicates effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams
- Motivated, reliable, and interested in long‑term growth within a hands‑on construction environment
- Competitive base salary range of $90,000 - $130,000 , commensurate with experience
