We are seeking al Senior Staff Accountant to work within our client's manufacturing organization. In this role, you will manage day-to-day general ledger accounting while spearheading cost control, standard costing, and inventory valuation. This role provides crucial transparency to plant management and corporate executives to drive operational efficiency and protect gross margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis: Maintain and update standard costs for products, parts, and bills of materials (BOMs). Analyze and report on material, labor, and overhead variances against actual production costs.
- Inventory Control & Valuation: Manage the accounting for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Lead month-end inventory reconciliations and audit quarterly or annual physical inventory counts.
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting: Execute the monthly closing process, preparing complex journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. Compile gross margin analyses, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports, and plant financial statements.
- Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditures (CapEx): Track fixed assets, calculate depreciation, and monitor capital spending for machinery and facility upgrades.
- Internal Controls & Audit Support: Ensure strict adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies. Gather documentation and prepare schedules to support external annual financial audits.
- Operational Collaboration: Partner with production managers and engineers to decode financial variances and implement process improvements on the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. A CPA or CMA tracking is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of corporate accounting experience, with at least 2 years spent directly within a manufacturing or production plant environment.
- ERP Software Mastery: Advanced, hands-on experience using mid-to-tier-1 manufacturing ERPs like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Epicor.
- Technical Spreadsheet Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, data modeling, and macro troubleshooting.
- Industry Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of absorption costing, overhead allocation methods, and inventory obsolescence reserves.
Salary : $90,000 - $95,000
