What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Clerk position at Miccosukee Tribe of Indians?
The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the prompt processing of all bills received for payment and for controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
Functions
· Must have Accounts Payable Experience.
· Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
· Process all P/O’s.
· Maintain accurate and detailed vendor files.
· Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
· Review and verify invoices and check requests.
· Set invoices up for payment.
· Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
· Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
· Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
· Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
· Self-motivated, with a strong analytical nature and a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative skills.
· Good attention to details, accuracy, thoroughness, timeliness and high personal organization.
· Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel at a minimum is mandatory. Knowledge of Sage software is desired.
· Ability to efficiently manage shifting priorities and deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, use good judgment and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
· Excellent people skills a must.
· Strong ethical conduct.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The position is based on the Miccosukee Reservation, located approximately 20 miles west of the Miccosukee Resort & Casino on SW 8th Street in Miami, FL.
