The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is currently seeking to hire a full-time High School Science Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The candidate job duties would be to effectively teach grade-level standards so that all students are cognitively, socially, and emotionally prepared for the rigor of the following grade level. Instruction will be delivered using highly engaging, research-based strategies that motivate and inspire students to be inquisitive while developing a passion for learning. Great emphasis will be placed on ensuring that Miccosukee culture is seamlessly integrated into lessons throughout the year. Students will have consistent and equitable access to technology, enabling them to continue developing age-appropriate 21st-century skills. Data-driven decisions will be made with the best interest of the student in mind. Teacher must have Florida Teaching Certification. Looking for a teacher who will effectively teach grade-level standards so that all students are cognitively, socially, and emotionally prepared for the rigor of the following grade level. Instruction should be delivered using highly engaging, research-based strategies that motivate and inspire students to be inquisitive while developing a passion for learning. Must be able to create standard based lesson plans on a weekly basis that meet the criteria specified in the lesson plan check list form; be organized; use research-based strategies to maintain student engagement & various modes of teaching to keep students; develop solid classroom routines and procedures to ensure effective classroom management; develop a behavior management system that is implemented consistently and consists of rewards and consequences; create classroom rules that are positive and set clear expectations for students; regularly update gradebooks and meet the gradebook requirements detailed by the school; encourage the use of technology; provide students with specific and effective feedback; create a safe and welcoming classroom environment; provide tier 2-3 interventions as needed; other duties as required. Looking for a teacher who will communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents and colleagues; who will adhere to confidentiality policies and protocols established by the tribe; support the school and students by attending school events and activities; adhere to the Code of Ethics and the Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession of Florida, pursuant to State Board of Education Rules 6A- 10.081 and comply with all policies, protocols, and procedures explained in any and all MIS handbooks, guides, and memos sent by the leadership team and administrators.
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8 hours)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Licensure/Certification: Florida Department of Education Teaching Certificate
Salary: The Miccosukee Indian School offers highly-competitive salaries beginning at $55,000. The official salary is dependent on teaching credentials and experience.
