Facilities Project Manager (One-Year Contract)
MGT is seeking an experienced Facilities Project Manager for a contract assignment in the Greater Providence area. The selected candidate will be employed by MGT and contracted to the Client for the duration of the assignment.
A mid-size organization in Rhode Island is seeking a Facilities Project Manager for a one-year contract to lead projects and management efforts its facilities maintenance operations. This role is responsible for managing, planning, directing, and organizing the work of skilled and semi-skilled tradespeople and external contractors involved in the operation, maintenance, repair, modification, and construction of all buildings owned and operated by the organization.
The Facilities Project Manager will work under the direction of senior management to ensure all facilities are maintained in optimal condition through regular inspections, the development of preventive maintenance and contingency plans, and the oversight of daily operations. This role also includes preparing annual departmental goals and budgets, managing support contracts, and ensuring compliance with all standards and expectations.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to present reports in group settings
- Experience supervising maintenance records, reports, and supply requisition processes
- In-depth knowledge of general building maintenance practices, tools, materials, and computerized preventative maintenance systems
- Understanding of occupational hazards and safety procedures related to building maintenance and construction
- Ability to plan and supervise a diverse team of skilled and semi-skilled workers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to draft sketches or plans for building improvements or alterations
- Skill in estimating required materials for maintenance work
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and the use of common tools and materials
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, working drawings, and sketches
- Must pass a background investigation and maintain eligibility as a condition of employment
- Valid driver’s license and insurability required and must be maintained
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required
- At least two (2) years of experience in a leadership role involving building and/or plant maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to routinely lift or carry items weighing up to 15 pounds
- Capable of prolonged standing, squatting, kneeling, stooping, and walking
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Frequent use of a computer and keyboard
Work Environment:
- Primarily a climate-controlled office setting
- Occasional exposure to outdoor elements during inspections or maintenance oversight
Contract Details:
- One-year contract with the potential for extension depending on organizational needs and performance
- Full-time, on-site position in Rhode Island
