The Vice President of Sales is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for driving revenue growth in the industrial and construction end markets, building a high-performing sales organization, and developing strategic plans to achieve company sales goals. This individual will lead the development and execution of strategies to expand market share, increase new revenue and ensure alignment between sales initiatives and overall business objectives.

Vice President of Sales
Job Purpose & Summary
Meyer Lab is seeking a self-directed, highly driven individual to join our Meyer lab family. The Vice President of Sales is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for driving revenue growth in the industrial and construction end markets, building a high-performing sales organization, and developing strategic plans to achieve company sales goals. This individual will lead the development and execution of strategies to expand market share, increase new revenue and ensure alignment between sales initiatives and overall business objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Establish short- and long-term goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the sales team and hold sales teams accountable to KPIs and goals.
- Team Development & Management:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team across multiple regions or channels.
- Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Market Expansion & Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
- Collaboration & Alignment:
- Partner with Marketing, Business Development, Field Service, and Operations teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with overall company goals.
- Provide sales insights to influence product development and pricing strategies.
- Performance & Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to the CRO and Board.
- Manage the sales budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- 10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, including at least 5 in a senior leadership sales role
- Proven track record of exceeding sales revenue targets
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with proven track record of successfully leading sales organizations through business transformation initiatives
- Documented track record of success pursuing and closing national accounts as both an individual contributor and team leader
- Master of Execution. Ability to both develop and execute strategies to positively impact results.
- Experience successfully leading a nationwide remote sales team

- Must live in or relocate to the Kansas City area
- Experience in a blue-collar environment—Meyer serves the industrial and construction industries. Heavy manufacturing, concrete, and asphalt. Must be willing to get your hands dirty.
- Frequent travel will be required for this role. Travel can fluctuate based on key business initiatives. At times the role will require being in the field up to 3 weeks our of each month. A typical travel week will consist of departing Monday afternoon and returning Thursday evening.
