Responsibilities
- Production Planning - Establish the planning and scheduling of production processes, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Resource Optimization - Integrate schedule and routings with inventory management to track raw materials and finished goods, providing visibility into production loss to reduce the risk of shortages or excess inventory.
- Scheduling - Create and optimize schedules for production runs, considering capacity, inventory levels, and lead times to meet customer demands efficiently.
- Resource Allocation - Assign specific resources (machines, labor, etc.) to production tasks, optimizing the use of available capacity.
- Lead Time Management - Calculate and manage lead times for production, enabling better delivery commitments to customers.
- NetSuite Management - Utilize NetSuite, specifically the WIP (Work In Progress) and Routings modules, to manage and streamline production workflows.
- Integration with Other Modules - Seamlessly integrate with other NetSuite modules (like inventory, order management, and financials), providing a holistic view of supply chain operations.
- Reporting and Analytics - Offer detailed reports on production activities, allowing for data-driven decision-making and process improvements. Analyze production data to identify trends and implement enhancements.
- Collaboration - Partner closely with Inventory Control, Operations Leadership, Procurement, and Finance to align production schedules with overall business objectives and ensure seamless operations.
- Communication - Provide clear and timely communication to stakeholders regarding production schedules, changes, and potential impacts on delivery timelines.
- Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning and scheduling, with a strong focus on operations planning.
- Proven ERP experience (NetSuite preferred), particularly in the WIP and Routings modules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis, pivot tables, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing production challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP
- Familiarity with enterprise-level scheduling for multiple locations.
- Knowledge of industry best practices in production planning and scheduling
- Up to 25% travel as needed
- Desk and computer work required.
