Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing concrete forms, including formwork construction and rebar installation, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with blueprints.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to facilitate efficient concrete pouring and finishing processes.
- Perform concrete pouring activities, ensuring proper placement, leveling, and smooth finishing of surfaces such as floors, sidewalks, and curbs.
- Execute detailed concrete finishing tasks including troweling, smoothing, caulking, and sealing to achieve specified textures and appearances.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project requirements.
- Support in cutting and shaping concrete using specialized tools for precise fitment and aesthetic detailing.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople on projects involving plastering, stucco application, roofing support, or restoration work.
Requirements
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as carpentry or masonry.
- Mechanical knowledge of tools such as hand tools, power tools, concrete mixers, saws for cutting concrete or rebar bending equipment.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards and proper safety protocol adherence.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and working at heights when necessary.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and understanding of concrete forming techniques.
- Skills in rebar installation, concrete pumping operations, metal stud framing or flooring installation are advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving if required for site access or equipment transport.
