A leading electrical utility contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support Transmission, Distribution, and Substation construction projects. This role serves as the primary liaison between field operations, project management, and the client, ensuring all project reporting, safety compliance, scheduling, and execution requirements are met.

Essential Functions
The Construction Manager is responsible for:
- Acting as the primary liaison between field operations and the client.
- Managing daily, weekly, and monthly project reporting.
- Attending all required client and internal project meetings.
- Coordinating with project managers, operations leaders, and subcontractors to monitor progress, milestones, and productivity.
- Assisting with on-site purchasing and materials coordination.
- Supporting safety, quality control, and compliance reporting.
- Ensuring 100% compliance with company and client documentation requirements.
- Supporting equipment needs, budgeting, logistics, and tooling coordination.
- Participating in weekly executive update calls to report progress, risks, and operational concerns.
- This position reports to the Project Management and Operations leadership team and will require travel and possible relocation based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the safety team to ensure all project work complies with company and client safety requirements.
- Ensure all personnel maintain current site-specific training and certifications.
- Monitor safety performance and implement immediate corrective actions when necessary.
- Assist in the development and execution of Project Execution Plans (PEP).
- Lead and participate in project scheduling and planning activities.
- Work with leadership teams to develop schedule recovery and mitigation plans.
- Track and support project budgets, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Coordinate equipment selection and material procurement for timely delivery.
- Review and submit all project deliverables accurately and on time.
- Apply continuous improvement and best practices to reduce cost and schedule risk.
- Manage day-to-day client site relationships to ensure collaboration and satisfaction.
- Promote client satisfaction as a key driver of repeat business.
- Oversee the proper use of company-owned and rented equipment and coordinate repairs.
- Facilitate weekly site safety and progress meetings with project leadership.
- Report weekly to executive leadership on progress, risks, and site conditions.
Success Factors

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success managing large, complex electrical/utility construction projects, preferably substation or switchyard construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, budgeting, and management systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively for on-site project assignments.
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2-year or 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the utility industry (substation experience strongly preferred)
- Prior experience as a Project Construction Manager or equivalent role required
Additional Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license required
- Must pass criminal background check, MVR check, and pre-employment drug screening
Salary : $42 - $52
