What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inside Sales Manager position at Metals USA?
Trident Steel is currently seeking an Inside Sales Manager for our Richardson, TX Location. The Inside Sales Manager works to develop the skill and knowledge of the everyday functions of the Sales Department to direct the actual distribution or movement of steel products and services to the customer; coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and establish training programs for sales representatives. Analyzes sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.
- Develops goals for sales representatives and established account representation for sales territories
- Monitors/analyzes monthly sales figures versus sales budget, for the sales department, and surveys competitors sales activities such as pricing and inventories to aid in determining future training, pricing policies, and practices.
- Establishes and maintains client relationships and programs
- Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets
- Evaluates sales performance and gives feedback consistently, regularly and in a timely manner based upon observed examples of sales representatives' performance and behavior
- Ensures support for sales representatives on joint visits to customers, team meetings and one-on-one conferences
- Monitors sales team performance and communicates results to individuals and teams
- Active in planning, coordinating and scheduling warehouse production with operations management
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications:
- BS degree in Marketing, Business, or Industrial Engineering is preferred, but not required
- Minimum 4 years working knowledge of the steel and the steel processing industry.
- Minimum 1 year knowledge of business and management principles involved in human resources, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information, technical procedures and numerical data. Ability to write simple reports and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and other employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
- Computer/Office Skills: working knowledge of latest Windows Operating Platform, Microsoft business applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); comfortable using the internet for sourcing and obtaining competitive and marketing data. Proficient at using standard office equipment such as fax, copier, scanner, etc)
- Must possess a valid Drivers License
- Candidate must pass pre employment drug screening
