Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Perform mechanic duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, industrial electrical (up to 480 volts), pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance on our machines.
- We operate large flat rolled steel processing lines such as cut to length, slitting, shearing, and polishing.
- Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
- Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
- Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
- Inspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of repair needs
- Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures
- Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
- Uses Maintenance X program to maintain supplies and spare parts inventory
- Reads maintenance repair work orders and specifications to determine machine and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
- Direct other teammates to assist in various improvement projects and collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment
- Maintains equipment files and orders spare-parts inventory on service center equipment and work effectively with operations to implement a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment uptime (or reliability)
- May occasionally drive company motor vehicle (non-DOT) for local pick-up for parts
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and promote the same throughout the facility
- Perform highly diverse duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments

Qualifications:
- Must have Vocational/Trade School education in electrical/mechanical work or Journey-level experience equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year experience in general maintenance repair work
- Must have qualifications to work on high voltage electrical equipment following all requirements.
- Experience performing regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities as prescribed in the preventative/predictive maintenance plan.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Must possess a Valid Driver's License
- Position requires availability for emergency on call situations to come in and repair equipment as needed in the evenings and/or weekends.
