What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Messina Talent Advisors?
Seeking to hire a Quality Control Inspector for a an opportunity on the north side of Chicago, near Norridge. Our client has machined products for a wide range of industries for almost 100 years.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds the contract specifications and company standards.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Company policies and procedures.
- Assists in identifying manufacturing issues to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventative action.
- Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring equipment, CMM and test fixtures.
- Audits, records and maintains inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring the scanning, record keeping, and filing duties of inspection criteria.
- Advise production when inspection results do not meet customer specifications. Communicates pertinent information to supervisors and co-workers.
- Ensure calibration, perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment as required.
- Coordinates with operations to schedule and allocate work to inspection staff to ensure production targets are met.
- Confirms that dimensions, finish type, and finish appearance of parts meet specifications on customer drawings and are within quality standards and agreed upon terms.
- Responsible for the proper care and storage of precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Operates and maintains precision machinery such as Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Interact with customers to better understand, communicate, and confirm quality and satisfaction.
- Support first article inspections.
- Serves as a resource to team members, provide technical support to all team members.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills, high attention to detail, adaptable to various responsibilities, and ability to multi-task.
- A good team-player and able to work independently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, formal or informal, and ability to effectively communicate work information and provide training to others.
- Ability to accurately, understand, interpret engineering drawings and to apply relevant effective inspection fixtures, gages, and techniques to ensure conforming parts and capable processes.
- Working knowledge of computer programs to develop, maintain and interpret CMM part programs and outputs.
