The Unit-Based Educator provides specialized education and competency support for a 38-bed transplant unit, collaborating closely with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure orientation, ongoing education, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate new staff orientation and maintain annual training requirements
- Deliver education on advanced transplant procedures and clinical skills
- Support competency validation and clinical development
- Assist in quality monitoring, safety, and performance improvement efforts
- Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based critical care practices
- Promote professional growth and a culture of continuous learning
- BSN required; current RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac specialty nursing experience; additional experience in training or staff development preferred
- Proficiency with liver, kidney transplants, urology, colorectal, and bariatric surgeries
- Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- Passion for education, mentorship, and cardiac nursing practice
