Job Summary
This Medical Affairs Associate, Congress Strategy supports the planning, execution, and optimization of global medical congress activities within an oncology portfolio. Working within a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Medical Affairs, the position focuses on delivering high-quality congress engagement, ensuring compliance, and generating actionable insights. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, project management expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end congress activities, including pre-, peri-, and post-congress planning, communications, scheduling, debriefs, and insights dissemination.
- Execute CoE plans with strong technical depth across training, compliance, project management, medical education, and grants/sponsorships.
- Manage timelines, vendors, and budgets to ensure delivery against objectives and adherence to compliance standards.
- Coordinate thought leader engagement activities and ensure alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Contribute to competitive intelligence efforts, including vendor coordination and insights communication.
- Lead planning and execution of scientific booth/tabletop materials to enhance engagement and visibility.
- Define and implement work instructions and process flows within assigned areas.
- Monitor and report on project metrics, training outcomes, budgets, and vendor performance.
- Guide and mentor team members on compliance requirements, new technologies, and scientific developments.
- Collaborate with internal Medical Affairs teams and external stakeholders to drive strategic alignment.
Qualifications
- Scientific or medical degree (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science).
- 1–3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Medical Affairs in a matrixed environment.
- Experience in congress planning or event management preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
