You’ll start execution-heavy and grow into broader ownership as processes mature.
Primary Objectives
- Remove day-to-day back office burden from the CEO.
- Internalize key operations currently handled by vendors.
- Improve accuracy across payroll, commissions, AP, and AR.
- Build scalable systems alongside external partners.
- Manage full AP cycle: invoices, coding, approvals, payments.
- Build processes, controls and documentation leading to transitioning AP fully in-house.
- Improve accuracy and support system enhancements.
- Review payroll for employees and contractors; validate hours, rates, deductions and commissions.
- Resolve discrepancies and build repeatable processes.
- Establish weekly/monthly cadence across payroll, AP, AR, billing, and benefits.
- Ensure deadlines, accuracy, and accountability.
- Partner with fractional controller on AR aging, collections, and risk.
- Coordinate benefits administration and payroll alignment.
- Manage relationships with payroll, benefits, and accounting partners.
- 2–5 years in operations, finance, accounting, or back office roles.
- Experience with AP, payroll support, or data workflows.
- Strong Excel/systems comfort and attention to detail.
- Ownership mindset and willingness to “roll up your sleeves”.
- Curiosity, reliability, and process-oriented thinking.
