IT Meditech Systems Specialist

Salary Range: $89,856 – $112,320 per year
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Meditech Systems Specialist to provide technical expertise, application support, and product ownership for the Meditech Expanse Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This role will focus on system optimization, troubleshooting, upgrades, user training, and collaboration with clinical and operational teams to improve healthcare IT performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Ownership: Lead product ownership and provide expert guidance on Meditech Expanse system priorities, enhancements, and decisions.
- Application Support: Provide daily technical support, troubleshoot system issues, and assist users with application-related requests.
- System Upgrades: Coordinate and manage system updates, patches, upgrades, and implementations while minimizing operational disruptions.
- User Training: Train physicians, providers, and healthcare professionals on EMR functionality, standards, and best practices.
- Incident Management: Investigate and resolve application incidents, escalating critical issues to vendors when necessary.
- Application Maintenance: Participate in application design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and validation for system enhancements, projects, and bug fixes.
- Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to improve workflows, resolve recurring issues, and implement process improvements.
- Data Integrity: Support the accuracy and integrity of clinical data, patient records, and other essential application information.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between IT teams, physicians, and operational staff to address technical issues and business requirements.
- System Integration: Support application integrations and compatibility across physician tools and healthcare technology platforms.
- Application Portfolio Management: Maintain the clinical application portfolio and contribute to lifecycle planning, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of acute care and/or ambulatory Meditech Expanse EHR experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Information Systems, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare IT systems.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and supporting Meditech Expanse applications.
- Experience training and supporting EMR users, including physicians.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for clinical and operational teams.
