Oncology Pharmacy Technician Opportunity in Lakewood, CO (80228)
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound investigational products (IP) as well as standard-of-care medications.
- Thoroughly review and execute sponsor protocols and instructional manuals regarding patient procedures.
- Manage comprehensive inventory tasks: monitor stock levels, forecast supply needs, place orders, verify deliveries, and update tracking systems.
- Calculate exact dosages, generate appropriate labeling, and assemble intravenous and other therapeutic solutions.
- Closely monitor drug storage temperatures, maintain detailed system logs, and promptly report any temperature excursions.
- Uphold a clean and safe pharmacy environment by strictly following infection-control and safety guidelines.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for site physicians and clinical staff to answer pharmaceutical questions.
- Safeguard patient privacy and study data by fully complying with HIPAA and site confidentiality agreements.
- Attend ongoing meetings and training to stay current with federal regulatory changes and specific trial requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent hands-on experience in sterile compounding or research). Must hold an active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential valid for the location.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a pharmacy setting, must have experience working with Oncology Drugs/Chemotherapy.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, GCP requirements, and standard medical terminology.
- Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong independent judgment, and the ability to troubleshoot and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Communication: Highly collaborative with the ability to communicate professionally with patients, internal teams, and external representatives.
