ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THIS ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Healthcare Claims Business Analyst for a contract opportunity based in Grand Rapids, MI. Our client is one of Michigan's largest employers, supporting IT projects that span 21 hospitals and 60,000 employees.
This role is open to support the continued evolution of Claims Edit and Revenue Integrity Systems. As a Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between complex business needs and technical solutions.
Note to Candidates: This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. Applicants must be local and able to commute to this location.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operations Support: Supporting the lifecycle of Claims and Revenue integrity across a large health system
- Requirements Engineering: Define and document systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding, ensuring alignment with healthcare industry and revenue department requirements.
- Workflow Optimization: Conduct business and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and design modifications for moderately-sized information systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison between end-users and technical teams to capture functional requirements and revise system logic issues.
- System Troubleshooting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues within existing applications to maintain clinical and operational continuity (Optum CES, Trizetto Facets)
- Strategic Analysis: Evaluate the business implications of applying new technologies to the current environment, keeping future industry trends in mind.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and advisory support to junior Business Systems Analysts within the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Healthcare Expertise: 2-3 years of professional experience specifically within the Healthcare industry.
- SDLC Proficiency: Solid understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, and testing.
- Analytical Rigor: Proven experience formulating systems scopes and objectives for complex, integrated environments.
- Implementation Experience: Previous participation in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly language for diverse stakeholders.
