Key Responsibilities
- Build Sub-Assemblies: Construct "benchtop" components that make up 60% to 70% of the final machine before they are integrated into the main system.
- Full Machine Assembly: Utilize blueprints to build specialty machinery from scratch.
- Tool Proficiency: Expertly use mechanical tools, including drills, threads, and reamers.
- Quality Control: Ensure all mechanics work together seamlessly and understand the critical differences between metric and US standard hardware.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior builders (like Dave) to integrate sub-assemblies into the main production line
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing floor environment, specifically in machine building or complex mechanical assembly.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
- Tool Knowledge: Mastery of power tools and manual hand tools.
- Education/Certs: Relevant trade experience or a history of personal "building" projects that demonstrate high mechanical aptitude
