Medix is currently seeking a Healthcare Business Systems Analyst for a contract opportunity based in Grand Rapids, MI. Our client is one of MIchigan's largest employers, supporting IT projects that span 21 hospitals and 60,000 employees.
This role is open to support the continued evolution of integrated IT Systems. As a Business Systems Analyst, you will bridge the gap between complex business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that the technology infrastructure effectively supports operations for an enterprise health system.
Note to Candidates: This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. Applicants must be local and able to commute to this location.

Day To Day Responsibilities
- Requirements Engineering: Define and document systems scope and objectives through rigorous research and fact-finding, ensuring alignment with healthcare industry requirements.
- Workflow Optimization: Conduct business and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and design modifications for moderately-sized information systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the liaison between end-users and technical teams to capture functional requirements and revise system logic issues.
- System Troubleshooting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues within existing applications to maintain clinical and operational continuity.
- Strategic Analysis: Evaluate the business implications of applying new technologies to the current environment, keeping future industry trends in mind.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and advisory support to junior Business Systems Analysts within the team.
- Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Healthcare Expertise: 2-3 years of professional experience specifically within the Healthcare industry.
- SDLC Proficiency: Solid understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, and testing.
- Analytical Rigor: Proven experience formulating systems scopes and objectives for complex, integrated environments.
- Implementation Experience: Previous participation in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation.
- Communication: Ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly language for diverse stakeholders.
