About the Role
A public media operation serving North Central Florida through TV, FM, and additional radio stations is hiring a Membership Coordinator to assist with overseeing membership operations. The stations are part of a major public university and serve listeners and viewers across the region.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and the Membership Director, this role builds lasting relationships with listeners, donors, and partners. The coordinator serves as a knowledgeable resource on station programming, schedules, member benefits, and station-hosted activities. This is a Monday-through-Friday position with some weekend work required during membership campaigns and special events.
What the Role Covers
- Planning, coordinating, and energizing FM and TV pledge drives, including recruiting volunteers, curating premium gifts, and managing on-air and direct-mail outreach
- Maintaining accurate member records in databases, processing contributions, and generating reports to guide future campaigns
- Handling phone, email, and face-to-face interactions, answering benefit questions and providing member support
- Keeping newsletters and social posts current
- Assisting the major gifts team with high-capacity donors, coordinating RSVPs, event setups, and thank-you logistics for events, community tables, and station outreach
- Identifying and nurturing relationships with local partners, including corporate sponsors, foundations, and volunteers, to expand the stations' community presence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior nonprofit fundraising and member development experience preferred
- Enthusiasm for the mission of public media
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with members, volunteers, and staff
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of software designed for public media, including Allegiance, Mvault, Forest Direct, Viability, and Microsoft programs preferred
- Familiarity with donor databases, contact management systems, and tracking systems preferred
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
