MSS, a Crete United company, is seeking a hands-on Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across commercial and industrial HVAC, mechanical, and construction operations in Louisiana.
This role requires a visible field leader who can drive compliance, influence behavior, and partner with operations to reduce risk and improve jobsite performance. You will split your time between the field and office, balancing safety leadership, training, reporting, and program management.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct field safety audits, inspections, and observations on active jobsites
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards
- Develop project-specific Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions
- Partner with foremen, supervisors, and project managers on risk mitigation
- Investigate incidents, complete reports, and coordinate corrective actions
- Support injury case management and return-to-work processes
- Review confined space work, crane lifts, elevated work, and other high-risk activities
- Inspect AEDs, fire extinguishers, and safety equipment
- Calibrate air monitors and maintain compliance records
- Own and manage the company fleet management and driver safety program, including policy enforcement, MVR reviews, training, incident review, and compliance tracking
- Maintain accurate reporting using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Travel to project sites as needed across the region
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of safety experience in construction, HVAC, mechanical, industrial, or related trades
- OSHA 510 certification required
- OSHA 30 certification required
- OSHA 500 strongly preferred
- Experience leading safety training and influencing field teams
- Proven ability to build JHAs and site-specific safety plans
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline
- Intermediate or better proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills with both field and office teams
- Self-directed, dependable, and solutions-oriented
- Ability to walk jobsites, climb ladders, access roofs, and lift up to 50 lbs
Schedule & Work Environment
Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility based on project demands. Occasional overtime, weekends, and travel may be required.
