Position Summary
This role blends client consulting, conceptual design, estimating, and sales execution. The Landscape Sales Designer owns the full sales lifecycle: discovery, site consultation, solution design, proposal development, presentation, follow-up, and close—while ensuring a smooth handoff to operations.
This is a revenue-producing role suited for someone who can combine design credibility with strong closing ability in a high-end residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and self-generated residential leads
- Conduct discovery calls and on-site consultations
- Assess property conditions, client goals, budget, and timeline
- Develop conceptual landscape solutions (planting, hardscape, outdoor living, lighting, drainage)
- Build accurate scopes and estimates
- Create and present client proposals (good / better / best)
- Close new business while protecting margin
- Maintain CRM pipeline and follow-up cadence
- Coordinate with operations for clean project handoffs
- Identify upsell opportunities (maintenance, lighting, enhancements)
- Deliver a high-touch, professional client experience
Required Qualifications
- 3 years in landscape sales, design/build, or residential consultative project sales
- Demonstrated ability to close project-based sales
- Working knowledge of planting, hardscape, and basic drainage
- Strong communication and client-facing presence
- Ability to build estimates and proposals
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Landscape design/build experience
- CNLP or similar credential (or willingness)
- Experience with design tools (SketchUp, PRO Landscape, Dynascape, AutoCAD)
- Experience with affluent residential clients
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
