The CNC Programmer develops CNC programs using Mastercam for 3- to 5-axis CNC machines, supporting the production of mid- to high-complexity aerospace components. Responsibilities include fixture design, drafting, cutter and tooling selection, toolpath creation, setup documentation, CNC verification, and shop aid sketches.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam) for aerospace components.
- Select cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various material types.
- Verify CNC code against engineering models using VERICUT Simulation.
- Interpret job orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine tooling, work holding, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Create setup documentation and support shop floor needs with accurate technical information.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong knowledge of Mastercam (milling programs).
- Solid understanding of machines, tools, and their applications.
- Strong foundation in mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics).
- Skilled in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
