Safety and Environmental Lead

As a Safety and Environmental Lead, you will spearhead initiatives to foster a culture of excellence in workplace safety, health, and environmental stewardship. You will play a pivotal role in driving operational compliance and mitigating risk through strategic program development and cross-functional leadership.

• Design and execute comprehensive EHS programs to ensure full adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Lead tactical teams in addressing high-risk areas including ergonomics, electrical safety, machine guarding, and environmental pollution prevention.
• Establish robust hazard assessment and auditing processes to validate and improve operational safety practices.
• Conduct thorough root cause analyses on incidents and near-misses to capture actionable insights and prevent recurrence.
• Manage environmental reporting obligations, including air emissions, waste disposal, and chemical inventory compliance.
• Collaborate with leadership to analyze safety metrics and implement data-driven strategies for continuous improvement.
• Foster a zero-incident mindset by coaching staff and facilitating effective communication across all organizational levels.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience managing EHS compliance within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and data analysis.
• Proven ability to influence cultural change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Skills

• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
• Experience with Workers’ Compensation case management and agency interface.
• Background in strategic planning and departmental budget management.
