Process Technician

Compensation ranges from $26 to $36 per hour, determined by your professional background.

Our team is looking for a skilled Process Technician specialized in plastic injection molding to oversee production activities and guarantee that molding operations remain consistent, safe, and productive. You will handle tasks including machine configuration, mold transitions, process refinement, and technical troubleshooting to ensure all production and quality benchmarks are achieved.

• Manage the configuration and operation of injection molding machinery, tooling, and peripheral equipment.
• Execute mold transitions, machine startups, and changeovers with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Define and regulate essential process variables such as cycle times, cooling, pressure, temperature, and speed.
• Identify and resolve technical obstacles within molding processes to improve overall productivity and quality outcomes.
• Demonstrate expertise in mold mechanics, including ejector systems, cores, slides, and runner configurations.
• Adjust process parameters to eliminate defects like warpage, flash, short shots, and other dimensional inconsistencies.
• Oversee active production runs to maintain high-quality standards and ensure optimal cycle efficiency for the team.
• Collaborate across departments, including Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality, to address equipment and process challenges.
• Support the validation of new molds and processes through parameter development and trial setups.
• Maintain accurate records of production modifications, troubleshooting steps, and process configurations.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance efforts to help ensure a safe and reliable operating environment for all machinery.
• Provide mentorship and technical instruction to operators regarding standard molding procedures.
• Uphold all established safety, quality, and production protocols to maintain a secure workplace.

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience as a Process Technician in an injection molding environment.
• Deep technical knowledge regarding injection molding equipment, tooling, and processing methods.
• Demonstrated history of successfully managing machine setups, startups, and mold changeovers.
• Proven capability to refine and troubleshoot complex injection molding processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of material processing, drying, and resin handling.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, setup documentation, and process sheets.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Capacity to function independently while fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Formal training or professional certifications in plastics and injection molding.
• Familiarity with diverse molding controls, machine types, and auxiliary systems is highly valued.
