About the Role
As a Pressure Vessel Welder, you will play a critical role in the fabrication of high-pressure components, ensuring every weld meets rigorous industry standards. You will leverage your expertise in Flux-Core and other arc welding processes to deliver high-quality, defect-free results that drive our production success.
Responsibilities- Execute high-precision welds on pressure vessels in strict accordance with ASME Section VIII Division 1 standards and customer specifications.
- Utilize Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques, including back-gouging, to ensure structural integrity and code compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with fitters and quality control personnel to streamline production workflows and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship by cleaning and preparing work areas for inspection, ensuring all components pass rigorous quality audits.
- Manage your daily schedule with minimal supervision to optimize throughput while maintaining meticulous labor documentation.
- Operate heavy equipment, including cranes and forklifts, to safely position materials and maintain a safe, organized shop floor.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding tools and manual grinders to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to pass standardized weld tests and maintain production certifications.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprint drawings and technical schematics.
- Demonstrated experience with SMAW, GTAW, and Flux-Cored welding technologies.
- Solid understanding of safety protocols and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues in a fabrication environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Skills
- 3 years of specialized experience in pressure vessel fabrication.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1.
- Current forklift and crane operation certifications.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with inspectors and project stakeholders.
