About the Role
We are looking for a meticulous Process Technician to become a vital part of our manufacturing operations, focusing on plastic injection molding. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing molding processes and ensuring the consistent production of high-quality products. Your expertise will directly impact our efficiency and output.
Responsibilities- Execute mold and tool changes swiftly and accurately, adhering to production plans and stringent safety regulations.
- Configure and initiate injection molding machinery, auxiliary devices, and molds to fulfill production goals.
- Refine molding processes to enhance part quality, shorten cycle durations, and minimize waste and downtime, thereby boosting overall productivity.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to molds, machines, and processes, implementing effective solutions to maintain smooth operations.
- Oversee and record process variables, keeping precise production and setup logs for future reference and analysis.
- Work alongside maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to bolster equipment reliability and performance, contributing to a collaborative environment.
- Uphold the cleanliness and organization of the molding area, following 5S principles and safety protocols to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing technology, plastics, or a related field is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience (2-3 years minimum) in plastic injection molding and mold change procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of thermoplastics, mold setup, tooling safety protocols, and various processing methods.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, setup documents, and technical specifications.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with scientific molding concepts (e.g., RJG, Decoupled Molding).
- Exceptional mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with crane and hoist operation for safe tool and mold handling.
